I've been sewing

It has felt so good to sew, it's been a long time, but this is what I've been up to.

This is the back of a baby blanket for a shower I'm going to next week

This is the front and I totally got the idea from Tricia's website and the super cute quilt she made, now note I am no Tricia but if you like to quilt check out her blog http://uniqueinspirations.blogspot.com/

These are hot pads we made at a mid week activity
you'll need 5- 8 1/2 inch squares of coordinating fabric and 1- 8 1/2 inch insulated batting.

Lay the insulation down first then the back fabric square on top right side up.
Fold your remaining squares in half the layer (folds toward the center)
so you are showing a 1/4 of each square (like a packing box you've folded closed).
Pin in place, sew around the outside, then through the opening of the folded fabric
flip the folded fabric right side out. I hope that made sense.

Finished project.
