I feel that my kids have enough toys and then some so for Bug's B-day I decided to give her coordinating bedding so her room would be extra cute (and I admit I was secretly wishing if it were super cute she would make her bed and keep her room clean...we are working on that). So I went to Target, come on you know Target has some seriously cute stuff and great prices. I saw this super cute fuzzy comforter set on sale and a quilt to break up all the pink (they were each $45 there is no way you can buy fabric and batting for a queen bed for that). Target had some cute trow pillows but they were $20 each and either just the pink or not quite the right colors. So I decided I would make some. Ok I know what you are thinking it was an excuse to make something cute and I would agree with you it was, I can't help it I LOVE to make cute things that start out in my imagination and sewing is a way to create. Even Pres. Uchtdorf has said women were made to create.
Anyway I went to Joanns and bought 1/2 yard of black polka dots and to our local quilt shop that has the most delicious fabric (really have you ever walked into a fabric store and gotten hungry for all the cute stuff your eyes are beholding) and restrained myself into getting only 3 fat quarters and then used some left over fabric from other projects and made these throw pillows. I went with kind of a poppy pattern I drew out using some household objects (like bowls and canning lids) to make the sizes of the circles and then just made some of the circles wavy.
I am thinking we need some more pillows in different shapes (but I will resist the temptation I hope) what do you think.
